Bent arm elbow plank


This is both harder and easier than the straight arm plank. Harder because your body is more horizontal, making it more challenging for your core. It’s easier on the shoulders because you are not engaging your arms and shoulders in the same manner as the straight arm plank. Practice both for maximum gains!

Bent arm elbow plank Guide


Instructions

  1. Place your forearms on the ground, elbows approximately shoulder width apart, hands touching
  2. Keeping your elbows underneath your shoulders, Move your feet back, straightening out your body
  3. Engage your scapular muscles by pushing away from the ground
  4. Hold for the desired amount of time
Key points
  1. Keep your lower torso in line with your legs, do not sag your hips
  2. Keep your scapular muscles engaged
