No video currently available for this exercise. We are working hard to have videos for every exercise, please check back again soon!

Instructions

  1. Start from a handstand on parallettes
  2. Tighten your core muscles, spread your legs into a straddle position, tightening your leg muscles
  3. Slowly lower your head down in front of your hands, keeping your body inline and in the straddle position
  4. Lower your body down to a horizontal position
    1. While lowering your body, focus on continuing to move your head forward
    2. You should be maintaining a bend in your arms, and your hands should be around your rib cage to your waist (depending on your center of gravity)
  5. You should now be in a “Bent Arm Straddle Planche” position on the parallettes, focus on your breathing and hold this position for as long as you can.
    1. It’s typical to only hold for a few seconds at first. Try to build up to a 10 second hold.
  6. Lower yourself to the ground and repeat for another rep if you can.
Key Points:
  • This exercise takes a lot of energy, performing just 1 rep is plenty
  • Focus on “floating” your body off the ground, try not to touch your arms to the sides of your body
