Max height jumps Guide
Instructions
The purpose of this exercise is to jump as high as you can on each attempt. Visualize yourself reaching for something high, if you are in a room, try and touch the ceiling, if you are outdoors, try and touch a tree branch. Using a reference point will help you gauge how high you are jumping and will help you be more consistent on each rep.
When you jump, make sure you spot your landing as you come down, otherwise you may lose your balance. Also land on the balls of your feet and bend your legs as you land to reduce the impact on your joints and spine.
- Visualize something high to reach for
- Take a step or two and jump up as high as you can
- Reach upwards with your arms to maximize your vertical height
- Land softly, absorbing the shock with the balls of your feet and bending your legs
- Repeat for the required number of reps. Take your time between reps.
