Wide Grip Push Ups Guide

Instructions

  1. Get into a straight arm plank position
  2. Move both of your hands approximately six to eight inches wider than your shoulder width
  3. Keeping your elbows pointed backward, bend your arms and lower yourself to just above the ground
  4. Straighten your arm, pushing your body upwards, maximize your range of motion by straightening out your arms and extending your shoulder blades apart
  5. Repeat the push ups from Step 3 for the desired number of reps
Key points
  • Keep your body in line
  • Use the maximum range of motion. Focus more on range of motion than number of reps
  • For shoulder health, keep your elbows pointed back in the direction of your feet, do not flare your elbows outward
