Instructions
- Start in a handstand, get a solid hold and tighten your core and leg muscles
- Bend your arms and lower your head in front of your hands about halfway to the ground
- This is the same motion as if you are performing a handstand push up, except you do not need to lower your head as far.
- With control, lower your elbows to the ground and transition into a forearm stand.
- It may help to keep a bend in your legs as you transition, this will help you maintain balance in the forearm stand position without fully opening your shoulders.
- Hold the forearm stand for the instructed amount of time and then lower your feet to the ground to end the rep.
- Repeat from step 1 if instructed to repeat reps.
Key Points:
- Keep your forehead pointed towards the floor as you perform the movement, this will give you a bit more clearance to the ground
- If you are constantly falling back towards your feet (stomach side) during the transition, focus on opening your shoulders more as you lower yourself. Basically getting your upper arms in line with your torso.
